My initial idea was to have one large image supported by a grid of several smaller images.
I found that this detracted from the detail that I had captured in the images.
I therefore decided to use less images on each page.
I also decided to mount my images on a black background as I felt that the white background made the colours in the images look a lot less saturated and flat.
My initial idea for the Hoverfly page was to display 16 images on one page.
This was too busy so I opted for less images.
Above is the final layout idea for my book.
On the left page, a white background with the common name of the insect in Times New Roman font (point size 12).
The Latin name in brackets. In Times New Roman font, also point size 12 but in italics.
The descriptive text below was in the Helvetica Neue font in point-size 8.
